Judging a Zillow Premier Agent quote
Zillow has no public rate card for Premier Agent. Its site says the price of leads “varies by market, home values, expected connections, and more”. That makes your own numbers the only way to tell whether a quote will pay.
The three numbers
- Cost per connection: your monthly spend divided by the connections you get. Zillow reports an average cost per lead of $223 in major metro areas and $139 elsewhere.
- Cost per closing: cost per connection divided by the share of connections that close.
- Break-even close rate: the close rate at which a closing costs exactly what you keep from it.
Plan for the lag
Buyers who contact an agent through a portal often take months to buy. The calculator shows how many months of spend to expect before the first closing, on average. Budget for that before you start, or you may stop just before it pays.
The pay-at-closing alternative
Zillow also runs a pay-at-closing program, long called Flex and now marketed as Zillow Preferred. It charges nothing up front and takes a share of your commission at closing. Reports put that share at 15% to 40%; Zillow’s pricing page lists 40% on seller connections and says fees vary by market and price. Enter your full commission to compare the two.
OfferBacked is not affiliated with Zillow. The per-lead averages are from Zillow’s public pages as of October 2026 and can change. See Zillow Premier Agent cost: how the pricing works.
