The short answer
A government-issued photo ID, proof that your funds were sent, and any documents your title or escrow company asked for. Confirm the list with them a few days ahead.
Bring
- Government-issued photo ID for everyone signing.
- Confirmation of your wire or a cashier’s check, as instructed by your title or escrow company.
- Your homeowners insurance details.
- Your copy of the closing disclosure, to compare as you sign.
- Anything else your title company, lender or attorney specifically asked for.
Good to know
Requirements differ by state and by closing. In some states an attorney handles the closing; in others, a title or escrow company does. When in doubt, ask them directly rather than relying on a general list.
